A lot of parents can abuse the system by waiting until the last minute when tuition is due, then make the payment knowing there is not enough money in their account. So it looks as if the payment is good, when in fact it takes several days for the system to let us know the payment will not go through. I think the schools should have a way to globally turn of access of the entire school to being able to make those types of payments so many days prior to their payment due date. In other words, credit card payments could still be made online, but not ach drafts from bank accounts. This is a big issue and causes us to then have to pull students from class since the payment is unsuccessful.
For example we have quarterly payments, so let's say 10 days prior to the due date, I could flip a switch and shut off that type of payment, and this should give us enough time to know if all ach or drafts already attempted will clear.
