Currently, you provide a follow up fee service when a family is delinquent. I understand that this may impact your ability to collect fees, but to make the system better and provide the product that SmartTuition can be, it would be great to have the ability to set up automated emails for specific groups such as:
All families who are 30+ day delinquent receive warning: Notice 1 xyz
All families who become 60+ day delinquent receive warning: Notice 2
All families with a current balance: You now have a current balance for this month
These are merely examples, and schools could go on to customize it however they want.
These would be great reminders for families and shows us to be stewards of the school and family interests.
We were frustrated to find out that the communication with families was initiated after the "grace period" not the due date as we thought. We want to be able to initiate emails before the grace period is over because we care about our families and don't want them to be late. The Blackbaud system was supposed to eliminate follow-up work but we feel that is not being done to the best Blackbaud can do. The ability to contact our families automatically would improve the service and the numbers of people who make payments before the grace period is over.
I think this is a great idea.
