The mail merge feature on the financial aid letters is embarrassingly low tech for blackbaud. There should be a way to merge letters to two parents or one. For example, if there is only one parent on the application, the letter will say:

Dear John and _,

Please increase the technology on the mail merge feature within smartaid. These letters should be far more personalized than what the current functionality allows. Our letter now says "To the Parent or Guardian of Student Name" and it quite frankly, isn't personal enough for private school communications. We did that so as to bypass the awkward blank space if there is no second parent.
